Nearly 40 years later, the killing of Arizona Republic reporter Don Bolles remains one of the most shocking events to have ever happened in Phoenix. The bomb went off in the middle of the day as Bolles was going about his work.

Valley playwright Ben Tyler, who has written extensively about some of Arizona’s better-known political figures — including Barry Goldwater and Evan Mecham — has put together an event to mark the 40th anniversary. It’s called "You Can’t Kill a Story: The Murder of Don Bolles."
