Peoria Residents May Decide Sales Tax Increase This Fall

A citizen’s committee in Peoria has recommended several projects to the City Council to improve quality of life in the city, including a new recreation center, open space acquisition and public safety.

To pay for those items, the panel wants residents to increase the city’s sales tax by six-tenths of a cent.

We talked to former Peoria Mayor John Keegan, who chairs the Quality of Life Committee, about what Peoria residents are looking for.
