A University of Arizona student from California who fell to his death from a rooftop tower was drunk at the time, according to an autopsy report.

The Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office says in addition to being intoxicated, there was evidence 19-year-old Michael Anderson, of Mission Viejo, Calif., had smoked marijuana, though it is unclear when.

The autopsy showed the student, who climbed about halfway up a 20-foot ventilation tower atop a three-story residence hall, had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit for drivers of 0.08. His death was ruled accidental.

Anderson died just days after an 18-year-old Arizona State student who had attended a party sponsored by a banned fraternity, fell from a 10th story balcony in Tempe. Naomi McClendon, 18, a Kansas native, is believed to have been intoxicated at the time of her death.
