The Phoenix Veterans Affairs Healthcare center has a new Permanent director. Deborah Amdur will replace acting director Glen Grippen.

The announcement was made Friday morning. Amdur comes to Phoenix from the White River Junction VA Medical Center in Vermont where she worked as the medical center director. She’s also held social work and caregiving support positions within the agency.

This is the Phoenix VA’s first permanent director since the facility was embroiled in a scandal involving delays in care and falsified wait time data. Since then they’ve cycled through three interim directors before Amdur’s appointment Friday.

She’s expected to start within the next two months.
