Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Talks Choosing Judges, Death Penalty

Rebecca White Berch was selected to join the by then-Governor Jane Hull in 2002. Then in 2009, she started serving a five-year stint as the court’s chief justice.

After announcing her retirement during the summer, Justice Berch’s career on the high court will be completed September 28th.

Justice Berch spoke about a number of issues including Arizona’s merit selection system of choosing judges and whether Arizona will ever eliminate the death penalty.
