Opposing Views On Governor Ducey's K-12 Funding Plan

Governor Doug Ducey has proposed raising the amount of money that comes from the state land trust toward education. Ducey said the plan would bring $1.8 billion to schools over the next five years.

The proposal was heavily criticized by Democratic state lawmakers, who said it wouldn’t do nearly enough for education.

Recently, Republican State Treasurer Jeff DeWit also expressed concerns. We talked with Dewit.

We were also joined by Arizona Republic columnist Bob Robb, who disagreed with DeWit’s approach.
