Opposing Viewpoints On Supreme Court's Affordable Care Act Decision

This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a provision of the Affordable Care Act.

In a 6-3 ruling, the justices said the federal tax credits allowed by the law are available to all eligible residents, not just those in states that created their own exchanges. Arizona and 33 other states did not set up an exchange, and use the federal one.

We talked to Dan Derksen, director of the Center for Rural Health at the University of Arizona, who is happy with the decision.

There are many who disagreed with the high court’s decision. For another point of view, we talked to Naomi Lopez-Bauman, director of Healthcare Policy for the Goldwater Institute.
