Google announced it will invest millions of dollars in solar facilities in two states. One of those is Arizona.

The tech empire will spend $80 million to build half a dozen solar facilities, five in southern California and one in Arizona. Google will partner with solar developer Recurrent Energy and equity firm KKR & Company on the projects.

The Google website said the project will generate enough electricity to power over 17,000 homes. The Wall Street Journal reports, three companies have agreed to purchase the power from those plants. No information as to when the project begins.
