Former Representative Gabby Giffords has moved home to Tucson. She had been undergoing six to eight hours of therapy a day at a Houston facility after she was shot in the head in January 2011.Her husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, told the Arizona Daily Star that Giffords will continue rehabilitation in Tucson.

The latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that a quarter of Arizonans are obese. From Phoenix, KJZZ's Nick Blumberg reports.The data come from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, one of several measures of the nation's obesity.

Lightning from monsoon storms is blamed for several fires in the Tonto National Forest. KJZZ’s Al Macias reports forest officials are also worried about record-high temperatures. Seven fires are burning in the Tonto Forest today.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife service is going to kill a female Mexican gray wolf following a series of cattle depredations in southwestern New Mexico. This will be the first time since 2007 that Fish and Wildlife will be killing a wolf because of depredation problems.

Nearly a dozen states are hoping the U.S. Supreme Court lets Arizona deny benefits to the domestic partners of state employees. A federal court last year it was illegal to say only spouses and dependents of married state and universities were eligible.

Friday will be the eighth day this year the Valley’s been under a high pollution warning. Continued high temperatures could lead to more ozone advisories through the weekend. All week, the Phoenix area has been under either an ozone watch or warning.

The Valley's excessive heat advisory has been extended through Sunday, and Phoenix Firefighters are urging you to take steps to guard against the searing temperatures. Captain Jonathan Jacobs says that means planning the day before if you know you'll be spending time outdoors.

Tonto National Forest officials announced modifications of a temporary closure order which was enacted last month in response to three bear attacks in the Payson Ranger District. Forest spokeswoman Rahcel Hohl advises you can check the Tonto Forest website or call the Ranger Office at 928-474-7900 if you have questions about where you can camp overnight as some areas are still under the evening closure orders.

Good news for air travelers. You’re more likely to arrive on time with your luggage. KJZZ’s Al Macias reports the airlines are on pace to have their best performance since 1984.Nearly 84 percent of domestic flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled time in the first half of this year.

Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery says he’s eager to put Arizona’s medical marijuana law in front of a judge, as defendant or plaintiff. Last year, Montgomery warned county employees not to process any zoning or permit applications for marijuana dispensaries, because the businesses would violate the federal Controlled Substances Act.
