The Arizona House of Representatives has given its final approval to a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks in most cases. From Phoenix, KJZZ’s Mark Brodie reports. MARK BRODIE: Among many other provisions, the measure would make it a Class 1 misdemeanor for a doctor to perform an abortion, if the fetus is at least 20 weeks old, except in medical emergencies.

Former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas is expected to speak today, following his disbarment yesterday. On Tuesday a disciplinary panel upheld 28 ethical violations against Thomas. He and two assistants were accused of targeting county leaders and judges in criminal investigations.

The Department of Homeland Security says it did not mislead state and local law enforcement officials in allowing a system into jails that helps identify illegal immigrants with criminal records. A member of Congress had asked for a review of the ‘Secure Communities’ program after concerns that people with no criminal records were deported.

The City of Glendale is asking the National Hockey League to give it a break. The city owes the league $25 million for the Phoenix Coyotes. The league bought the Coyotes at a bankruptcy auction in 2009.

Home values across the country dropped a bit last month, but here in metro Phoenix there is good news according to a report out today.  KJZZ’s Al Macias reports. AL MACIAS: The Phoenix area was the highest-performing market in the country last month with an almost 10 percent increase in home values compared to the same time in 2011.
