Air traffic controllers at Phoenix Sky Harbor have begun their mandated furloughs. The cutbacks are required under sequestration, which is forcing across-the-board budget cuts at federal agencies.  The FAA says 10 percent of air traffic controllers will be off on any given day.

A new survey says support for Republican Arizona Senator John McCain has dropped to its lowest level in 21 years. Jim Haynes of Phoenix-based Behavior Research says only 26 percent of state residents in the latest Rocky Mountain Poll, gave the veteran senator a positive approval rating.

Senator John McCain wants to clarify his position on how the Boston Marathon bombing suspect should be treated while in custody.  He says he does not think Dzhokhar Tsarnaev should be tried as an enemy combatant, but he thinks it was a mistake to read him his Miranda rights so soon.

All Tucson public employees will receive a raise. The Tucson City Council approved the 55-cent-an-hour increase this week. The hike is included in Tucson's 2014 budget. The Arizona Daily Star reports, the change will take effect no later than Jan.
