The Arizona Department of Weights and Measures is pleased with a recent audit. It showed grocery stores are doing a good job of making sure consumers get accurate prices on sale items. Spokesman Shawn Marquez says they checked 29 markets around the state and found a 99.

The city of Bisbee has agreed to rewrite its civil union ordinance for gay couples a second time. The announcement came Monday after Bisbee officials met with Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne. Horne threatened to sue Bisbee after it passed the measure a few weeks ago.

The Tucson Unified School District will be giving pink slips to more than 150 employees. The district's Governing Board approved the layoffs Tuesday night. End of the year layoffs are common, but as the Arizona Daily Star reports, the number of employees being severed this year is more than in the past two years combined.

The number of foreclosures being started in Arizona continues to drop, according to the monitoring firm RealtyTrac. Vice President Darren Blomquist says about 3,900 Arizona properties got foreclosure notices during April.

criminalized performing abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The case could wind up at the U.S. Supreme Court.
The 2012 law bans most abortions at or after 20 weeks, with only a narrow exception for emergencies.
