Valley Fever hits Arizona hard
There were more than 16,000 reported cases of Valley Fever in Arizona last year and probably more than 30,000 unreported cases.Dr. John Galgiani of the Valley Fever Center for Excellence at the University of Arizona says improved research and diagnosis are needed to treat Valley Fever and keep the illness from being life-threatening.

Bond set for mother of Jhessye Shockley
A $500,000 bond was set Friday for the mother of a missing Glendale child. 38-year-old Jerice Hunter’s daughter Jessye Shockley hasn’t been seen since last year. Police believe Hunter murdered the then-five year old and disposed of her body several days before reporting her missing October 11.

New name on ballot for Cochise County Sheriff
Republicans in Cochise County have picked a retired commander to take Shreiff Larry Dever's spot on the November ballot. Dever died late Tuesday in a rollover crash in Northern Arizona. He was running unopposed for a fifth term as Cochise County Sheriff.
