The popular candy Peeps is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The fluffy, yellow confection was originally an Easter candy but has become a cultural icon, evolving into different shapes and colors.

The Federal Aviation Administration says it will delay the closures of towers at 149 airports across the country, including four in Arizona.Towers were supposed to have started closing Sunday night, but the FAA says it’ll now wait until June 15.

A Glendale man learned about the hazards of trying to remove bees from his home without experience. He and members of his family and their pets were stung several times, according to Glendale Fire Department spokesman Michael Young.

Firefighters in the Flagstaff area hope to keep high winds from spreading the Fisher Fire today. The blaze, about four miles south of Flagstaff, is being battled by 80-100 firefighters. They spent Monday tending to the fire in a steep canyon area, according to Brady Smith of the Coconino National Forest.

Navajo Nation lawmakers have put off voting on a lease extension for a coal-fired power plant until later this month.The lawmakers took the action after questioning water use at the Navajo Generating Station in Page, how to control pollution, the federal government's role in the plant and the formation of a negotiating team.
