A court system for homeless people is expanding in Maricopa County. It was created seven years ago to resolve minor offenses. Now the system has a new name and can be found in every town in the county.

The Tonto National Forest is looking for volunteers to help with spring cleaning along the Salt River. Forest officials say the water in the lower Salt River is low enough this time of year to remove trash from the banks and even the river bottom in some areas.

Governor Jan Brewer is expected Monday morning to release her proposal for simplifying the state sales tax. Last May, she created a task force to look into the issue, saying Arizona has one of the most complex systems in the country.

A federal judge says Arizona’s Medicaid program should not be allowed to charge certain people co-pays for medical care. U.S. District Judge David Campbell found that federal officials should not have issued a waiver allowing the state’s AHCCCS plan to charge low-income childless adults a co-pay.
