A public memorial service is scheduled Tuesday evening for a Phoenix-born banda musician who was gunned down in Mexico last week. Singer Tito Torbellino was among several people murdered in the Mexican state of Sonora in recent days.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is questioning the federal government for dropping off migrants at Arizona Greyhound bus stations after they were caught in Texas. Brewer has written to President Barack Obama asking for answers.
An excessive heat warning is in effect for Phoenix through Thursday. Temperatures could get as high as 111 degrees. Increased temperatures can be especially harmful for pets, children and the elderly.
