just uncomfortable. The weather is causing an uptick in emergency calls – and not

Patrol agents in southern Arizona
have arrested two Mexican nationals on drug smuggling charges. Spokesman Brent
Cagen says they found more than 930 pounds of marijuana in their vehicle, which
had a phony U.
Firefighters are starting to get a handle on the Doce
Fire, burning west of Prescott.
It’s reported to be about 50-percent contained and most of the homeowners who
had been evacuated have been allowed to return home.
Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona have seized a ton of marijuana they found hidden in a truckload of produce. The vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint on Interstate 19, north of Nogales, and spokeswoman Crystal Amarillas said drug-sniffing dogs located 88 bundles of pot hidden in a false wall, inside the trailer.

news Monday. Lenders are now barred from charging document preparation fees as
part of those loans. Representative Debbie McCune-Davis said the ban came as a
result of a lot of complaints.
People and companies from across the country are
donating to the families of the 19 firefighters killed battling the Yarnell
Hill Fire. Corporations like Motorola, the Arizona Cardinals and media
personality Glen Beck have contributed thousands of dollars to the 100 Club of
Arizona, an organization that provides financial and emotional support to the
families of first-responders who are killed
or injured in the line of duty.
helicopter pilots are being credited with helping the pilot of a small plane, after
his landing gear failed. Officer Darren Rigsby said he and his partner, both of
whom are flight instructors, were in the area when they found out about the
mechanical problems with the 1970 Cessna.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office said eight suspected
undocumented immigrants have been hospitalized after being found in the back of
a U-Haul truck at a gas station northwest of Tucson. Chief Deputy Steve Henry said each of
them had paid $5,000 to be transported from Douglas to Phoenix, but that it was just too hot inside
On Tuesday, a memorial service attended by Vice President Joe Biden, Senator John McCain and other diginitaries paid tribute to the 19 firefighters who were killed by the out of control blaze. Less than two weeks after that tragedy, residents are returning home and trying to get back to what had been normal life.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s
Office says a third accused looter is under arrest for stealing items from
homes that were evacuated as a result of the Yarnell hill fire. Sheriff’s
spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says 22-year-old Thomas Adams was found with a gun
taken from a Yarnell home.

the wake of the Trayvon Martin shooting and trial in Florida, but there's deep division over whether
any changes are needed.
Whether we like it or not, most of us have had to get used to members of the U.S. House on the almost-constant treadmill of raising money and running for reelection, thanks to their two year terms and the desire to keep going back to Washington.
Gas prices are up slightly in Arizona from a week ago. The statewide
average jumped 2 cents from last Friday to $3.58 a gallon. But, Stephanie
Dembowski of AAA Arizona says that's a lot less than last week's dime increase.
