Scrap metal monitoring bill passes the House

The Arizona House has given its final OK to a bill creating tougher monitoring of scrap metal transactions. The measure, from Representative Tom Forese enhances anti-theft laws to require all scrap dealers to register with the Department of Public Safety.

More money for Tucson city employees

All Tucson public employees will receive a raise. The Tucson City Council approved the 55-cent-an-hour increase this week. The hike is included in Tucson's 2014 budget.
