Last time that happened, the president found himself with a gubernatorial finger in the face, but the governor's press aide, Andrew Wilder, does not expect that this time around.

Valley teachers and administrators are preparing for the new Common Core standards that are replacing the AIMS test as a graduation requirement. State Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal noted the standards are more rigorous than the AIMS standards and said it will take time to adjust to them.

School Valley districts begin classes this week. One is the Phoenix Union High School District which is looking at a spike in enrollment this year with as many as 500 new students. District spokesman Craig Pletenik said that could make overcrowding an issue.

You will see photo enforcement vans in a number of Valley communities, but the 101 Freeway in Scottsdale turned its cameras off after a pilot program.
