For many teens, high school is difficult enough. But with a language barrier, it can seem impossible. This semester, Grand Canyon University opened a tutoring center that has helped more than 200 high school students, many of whom are still learning English. Grand Canyon calls it the Learning Lounge.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act and to celebrate, Arizona Highways Magazine has organized a series of wilderness hikes through some of the state’s most spectacular protected lands.
Arizona, Kansas and Georgia are trying to force a federal panel to add proof of citizenship requirements to federal voter registration forms, and they will make their case in a hearing Tuesday morning in Kansas. This case moved back to the courts after a federal commission denied the states’ request last month.
