The federal government outlined new safety measures Monday that would protect farmworkers from pesticide exposure by banning pesticide use by minors and sharply increasing training requirements, among other changes.
Phoenix is among a few Arizona cities to ban texting while driving, but there is no statewide prohibition. That’s led to what critics are calling a “patchwork” of local laws, which can vary from city to city, as with Tempe and Phoenix.
The Dysart Unified School District is asking voters to approve a funding override on Nov. 3. The request comes after voters rejected an override in 2014. That forced Dysart to phase out $6 million in spending this year.
