( Phoenix, AZ ) West Virginia senator Robert Byrd broke a record many though would stand for some time. He is now the longest serving member of Congress ever- a distinction once held by the late Arizona senator Carl Hayden. Here and Now spoke to historian Jack August and NPR political editor Ken Rudin about Hayden's impact and career.
