The homeless in Phoenix suffer through miserably hot summers.
( Phoenix, AZ )
Weekend temperatures are expected to soar above 115 degrees. The conditions are miserable for the homeless, who are bracing for the most unpleasant - and dangerous - time of year. KJZZ's Peter O'Dowd reports.
Items that SBH's Homeless Outreach is requesting include:
Water
Sunscreen
Hats or Caps
Lip balm
Hygiene kits (including toothpaste, toothbrushes)
Lightweight t-shirts
Shoes
Socks
Underwear
Supply donations can be dropped off at the front office of Southwest Behavioral Health, 3450 N. Third St. in downtown Phoenix, AZ 85014; 602-265-8338, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They can also be dropped off at SBH's Homeless Outreach offices at the Day Resource Center, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, 1125 W.
