A wave of unrest is rippling among Mexican factory workers who labor just beyond the U.S. border in Ciudad Juárez. Some 300 workers from at least four factories are protesting low wages and mistreatment and trying to start independent unions.
Since July, there have been at least 10 suicides on the Navajo Nation. The tribe’s president has linked the deaths to a mine spill that devastated hundreds of farmers. But suicide is a much larger and ongoing crisis for Native Americans.
