West Valley developer and philanthropist John F. Long.
( Phoenix, AZ )
West Valley developer and philanthropist John. F. Long died at the age of 87 after a short illness. Long was the first to build a master planned community in Phoenix, offering affordable, well-build homes in a community he named after his wife Mary. The developer of Maryvale also donated thousands of acres of land and money for parks, schools, and many community buildings. KJZZ's Paul Atkinson looks back at the contributions of John. F. Long.
Services for John F. Long will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11th at Community Church of Joy, 21000 N. 75th Ave., Glendale.
