Migrant Diary #2 (A New Iowan)
( Muscatine, IA )We hear a lot about immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border to find work in America. While many people stay in Arizona-others head to the Midwestern United States in search of jobs. KJZZ's Marcos Najera has the second in an occasional series of first hand stories called 'The Migrant Diaries.' He's on the road talking to immigrants who have worked their way across the country. Today we meet a man from Muscatine, Iowa who followed his heart to the heartland. Now he's helping others do the same.

Carillon Escapes ASU Fire
( Tempe, AZ )Clean-up is underway at Memorial Union, on the campus of Arizona State University, following the fire earlier this month. The upper floors were the most heavily damaged. That's where the university houses its carillon bells, a musical instrument that rings out across campus. The Carillon Society was recently allowed back inside the building for the first time since the fire, to check on the bells. KJZZ's Rene Gutel reports.

The Building on Portland Street
( Phoenix, AZ )You may not have noticed it, but there is a run-down brick building at 333 East Portland Street in downtown Phoenix. It was built in 1955 and served as the city's first Orthodox Jewish synagogue. Historians say the site represents a keystone in Phoenix's Jewish history, but the building's current owners contend the former synagogue is too costly to renovate, and they've sold it to a developer some fear will tear it down.
