A bus similar to this one operated by Puerto Vallarta Plus went off a mountain road on its way to Guadalajara. Half of the passengers onboard had taken a flight from Phoenix the night before.
( Phoenix, AZ ) A bus crash killed at least 17 people and injured 14 others near the town of San Pedro Lagunillas in the Mexican state of Nayarit. A spokesman for the bus company Vallarta Plus said the bus was carrying 35 passengers from Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara when the driver lost control on a wet spot on the road, crashed into a wall, then plunged more than 400 feet down a ravine. About half of the passengers on the bus had flown to Mexico from Phoenix. The names of the bus passengers are below.
