The former
chairman of the Tohono O'odham Nation has died. The death of Augustine B. Lopez
Sr. was announced Friday by his southern Arizona Tribe. Neither Lopez’s age nor
cause of death was released, but a short bio was made public by tribal officials.

than 35 years, police have arrested a man suspected of killing a woman in
Tucson. Tucson police have charged 66-year-old Bruce McCullough with
first-degree murder. He is accused in the March 1976 death of 20-year-old Donna
Smith.

Governor Jan Brewer is remembering a Department of Public Safety officer, killed Monday night in the line of duty. Tim Huffman, a 14-year veteran of the force was killed in a chain reaction crash, while tending to a vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 8, east of Yuma.

may soon have to tell tenants when their property enters foreclosure. The state Senate gave approval Thursday to a bill requiring the notifications. The bill
amends the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act to mandate the owner provide
written notification to tenants within five business days of receiving a notice
of foreclosure.
