Rangers at the Grand Canyon are investigating the death of a woman who collapsed while hiking near the canyon floor. Spokeswoman Vanya Pryputniewicz said she was part of a group that had just begun an outing in very hot weather.

Bus riders in metro Phoenix will be able to catch their normal buses Monday and Tuesday. Susan Tierney of Valley Metro said while the bus operators and the Amalgamated Transit Union have not settled their contract differences, the buses are running, “They will run as scheduled today and through Tuesday,” Tierney said.

Fewer Arizonans had their vehicles stolen last year than in 2011. The numbers come from the National Insurance Crime Bureau. They find of the top ten hot spot spots nationwide for vehicle theft last year, eight were in California.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers say they've shut down an incomplete drug-smuggling tunnel under the border at Nogales. Spokeswoman Amber Cargile says the finding came during a routine inspection of the main storm drain system on both sides of the border.
