( Phoenix, AZ )About 350 Phoenix residents became citizens American citizens this Fourth of July, in a ceremony to be held this afternoon at South Mountain Community College. Many immigrants live in the United States legally for a long time without becoming citizens, but with the debate over immigration reform stagnating in Washington, the uncertainty is leading more legal permanent residents to apply for citizenship.
