( Phoenix, AZ ) Team USA plays its first game in the World Baseball Classic at Chase field in Phoenix today. The 16 nation tournament has been designed by Major League Baseball to promote the game internationally, and lots of the game's biggest names are here in town. Many of the players who compete in the big leagues in the US during the regular season are playing for their native countries in the classic, which could level the playing field, and make for more competitive games.
