Average State Gas Prices Considerably Less Than National Average
Arizonans continue to pay less to fill up their gas tanks. AAA said the statewide average price of a gallon of unleaded was $3.39 Friday, and spokeswoman Michell Donatti said that is considerably less than elsewhere in the country.

Sweat Lodge Ceremony Conviction To Stand
 A jury's decision to convict a self-help author in the deaths of three people following an Arizona sweat lodge ceremony will stand. The state Court of Appeals has granted James Arthur Ray's request to drop his challenge of the case and also dismissed a cross-appeal.

Two Bitten By Rattlesnakes, Officials Warn Of Increasing Danger
Arizona residents are being warned about the dangers of rattlesnakes after two people were bitten north of Tucson. Adam Goldberg of the Northwest Fire District says a 23-year-old man riding a mountain bike was bitten on the calf, and three hours later, a 68-year-old man was bitten while he worked in his yard.

Average Summer Temperature Sets New Record
If you managed to stick it out these past few months in the Valley, congratulations, you lived through the hottest summer ever on record for Phoenix. According to the National Weather Service, the average temperature in Phoenix for June, July and August was 95.
