Amy at the WAGE control board in 1943.
( Phoenix, AZ ) Sixty years ago, Amy Nelson hosted a daily radio program on WAGE, the ABC affiliate in Syracuse, New York. She brought listeners the latest "news for women," including not only recipes and household tips, but plenty of information about health, the arts, politics, and public affairs. It was a time when radio truly served the needs of the local community. Nelson lives in Scottsdale now…but remembers her radio days as if they were yesterday.
