Arizona Informant Newspaper Online
The Arizona Informant Newspaper was founded in 1971, when two brothers by the names of Cloves C. Campbell, Sr., Arizona's first Black State Senator and Dr. Charles R. Campbell, PhD, decided there was something missing in the Black community. The Black community was missing out on valuable information that other news publications neglected to report. So, the Campbells, seeing the lack of information getting to the Black community, decided it was time for action. Together they formed the Arizona Informant Newspaper, the only African American-owned weekly newspaper in the state. Lots of hard work and 30 years later, the success of the paper is still indisputable by community support, subscribers, and awards.
