Tempe City Council will vote Thursday whether to adopt ordinances that would set a speed limit of 28 mph on roads, 20 mph on shared use paths, require helmets for riders under 18 and prevent kids from riding e-bikes.
While Gov. Doug Ducey said he is bullish on giving public school teachers a 4-percent pay raise this year, he did favor raising the limit corporations can donate to private and parochial schools for scholarships.
The study found cameras reduced crashes 24 percent at intersections and 37 percent on other road segments. “People are driving safer and better in Scottsdale everywhere because we have photo enforcement,” said Scottsdale Transportation Director Paul Basha, noting that collisions were reduced even at places without cameras.
