Eldar Djangirov

Only 18 and already a brilliant pianist, Eldar's second CD, "Eldar" shows his imagination and youthful spirit, but if you didn't know he was just a kid you wouldn't be able to tell by listening. You'll hear him bound out like Oscar Peterson on "Moanin'" and use a little Bill Evans flavor on "Fly Me to the Moon". Born and raised in Kyrgyzstan he was discovered playing at a Siberian jazz festival when he was 9 and he and his family have been living in the US since he was 12 and developing his sense of groove. His technique is just phenomenal! Watching this young player grow up in jazz will be pure delight, with a start like this you know you are hearing something rare and precious. You'll hear Blaise Lantana play something from his new release every night this month on KJZZ 91.5.
