Reporter, Host

Steve Goldstein with his cat Pete
Since making his first national radio appearance as a caller who flushed the toilet on "The Larry King Show", KJZZ news anchor and reporter Steve Goldstein has aspired to be a broadcaster. While earning his English degree at Santa Clara University, Steve toiled as program director, sports announcer and jazz jock at KSCU-FM aka "the Underground Sound."
After several years with some of Silicon Valley's shorter-lived high-tech startups, Steve moved to Phoenix, where he spent his formative years. He landed a position as a news anchor and production director for a pair of stations on the AM dial; he also hosted his own creation, a sports program called "Inside the Game."
Steve joined KJZZ in July 1997 as the local host of 'Weekend Edition Sunday.' Since 2002, he has taken you home in the afternoons on "All Things Considered."
Steve has been honored by the Arizona Associated Press for his work on news, sports, and public service features. He has also shared an Edward R. Murrow award with colleague Mark Brodie.
Steve is a Capricorn who enjoys long walks on the beach, political debate, and all varieties of bread. He’s also proud to be part of Phoenix’s Santa Clara University power trio with Governor Janet Napolitano and NBA MVP Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns.
