New River Explosion Being Investigated
Sheriff’s deputies are continuing their investigation into the explosion Monday night in New River that cost a Glendale man a leg and seriously injured his other leg.
Lieutenant Brandon Jones said they have to be cautious to make sure the area of the blast is safe.
"Once we clear all that up, we’ll be able to start looking into all the other questions that have come up, such as who were these people that were living on the property. Were they there legally, or not," Jones said.
Jones said deputies are still trying to determine exactly what the device that exploded was, what the chemicals in it were and whether there are any other explosive devices still on the property.
