The U.S. military, at the request of CBP, hung concertina wire on the border fence in Douglas, Arizona, in late 2018.

The Trump Administration has made border enforcement the centerpiece of its approach to immigration policy. Rhetoric related to a new or reinforced wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and harsher policies on Central American migrants has been a large part of the focus.

But the overall realm of immigration policy — and the possibilities of reform — encompasses a number of other categories.

The Migration Policy Institute has released two new reports — one of which is called Eight Key U.S. Immigration Policy Issues: State of Play and Unanswered Questions.

MPI Senior Fellow Doris Meissner joined The Show to talk about it.
