Mitch Menchaca, executive director of Phoenix's Office of Arts and Culture

Phoenix’s art scene has been evolving over the past several years — from new museums to new galleries to new arts districts and public art.

Now, the city has a new person running its Office of Arts and Culture. Mitch Menchaca took over as executive director in December after returning to the Valley from jobs in D.C. and California.

He joined The Show to talk about his experience so far.
