When it comes to the so-called "revenue sports" like football and men’s basketball, late 2018 and early 2019 have been horrible seasons for the Pac-12 conference.

None of its member schools made it into the four-team football playoff, and hopes for more than a couple of schools making it into the March Madness basketball tournament are slim. Some have also expressed concerns about how much money the conference is actually bringing in for the member schools.

Now, a potential strategic alliance between the Pac-12 and the Big 12 conference is being discussed. The proposal comes from former Kansas State University President Jon Wefald via a document he put together called "A Proposal to Create a Strategic Alliance Between the Big 12 and the Pac-12."

Jon Wilner of The San Jose Mercury News wrote the Pac-12 Hotline column and talked with Wefald about the idea. He joined The Show to talk about this development.
