Health Watch, No-Burn Day Issued For Phoenix Area Friday
Stagnant air over the Valley has resulted in a health watch being issued by the Maricopa County Air Quality Department.
Spokesman Bob Huhn said that means “No open burning and wood-burning fireplace activity in Maricopa and that also includes individuals and businesses which have permits for opening burnings."
Huhn says there are exceptions for those who use fireplaces to heat their homes and for those cooking food for immediate consumption. But he says people who violate the no burn order could face fines of up to $250.
