Arizona’s Office of Economic Opportunity projects the state will add 165,691 jobs by 2020. The forecast represents an annualized growth rate of 2.7 percent.

The fastest growth rates are expected in construction (5.8 percent annualized growth) and manufacturing (3.6 percent annualized growth) while the largest job gains are projected in education and health services (37,126 jobs) and professional and business services (26,177 jobs).

Leisure and hospitality is expected to add 19,255 jobs and financial activities is projected to add 11,414. The slowest rates of growth are predicted in government (0.6 percent) and natural resources and mining (1.2 percent).

Maricopa County is expected to see most of the growth with 138,457 jobs and Pima County is projected to see 11,905 jobs. The gains are projected to take place between the third quarter of 2018 through the second quarter of 2020.
