Once again, the Grand Canyon State is a beacon for Americans and foreigners wanting to relocate.

The Census Bureau's 2017 figures show nearly 262,000 people moved to Arizona from somewhere else in the country.

Of those, nearly a quarter migrated from California, followed by Washington and Illinois with about 5 percent of the total each.

The same report showed another 45,000 people immigrated to Arizona from around the world.

Although the census does not break down the immigration numbers, the American Immigration Council's 2016 numbers show more than half of Arizona's incoming immigrants arrived from Mexico, while residents from Canada, India, the Philippines and Vietnam made up about 14 percent of Arizona's newest immigrants collectively.

The census numbers estimate for every two Californians moving to Arizona, about half as many residents moved west to the Golden State.
