More And More Families Living In 3-Generation Households
During the depths of the Great Recession and in its aftermath — as home foreclosures increased dramatically — more families chose to live together. And that could include three generations under the same roof.
But that choice clearly wasn’t being made just for financial reasons, because the trend of multi-generational households is continuing. Research shows that about 10 percent of American kids are living in a three-generation home.
One of the people who has been doing that research is Natasha Pilkauskas, assistant professor of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. She joined The Show to talk about the trend.
