Buckeye Police Chief Suspended For 40 Hours
The Buckeye police department has been investigating an anonymous letter alleging misconduct for over a year now.
Last September, an anonymous letter to the Buckeye city manager claimed several police officers engaged in poor, criminal behavior.
Now, the city has a response after hiring a private investigator.
In a statement, officials say after looking through the investigator’s initial report, Buckeye Police Chief Larry Hall "accepted responsibility for city policy violations" and is suspended for 40 work hours.
The allegations included police leadership changing crime statistics, personnel issues and money misallocation.
Buckeye officials say the investigation is ongoing.
