Record rains in the valley transformed into a beautiful blanket of new fallen snow in Arizona’s northern country.

Meteorologist Nathan Lynum with the National Weather Service predicted much of what fell Tuesday morning will stick and leave from two to four inches of snow along the Mogollon Rim clear across to Flagstaff, and far more as the altitude climbs.

“Up on the SF Peaks we could even be seeing some snow fall totals upward around 10”, Lynum said, “So really it’s a good event to start out the early season snow fall for the high country.”

The snowfall is relatively early, but he said it did not break records. The northern region has seen significant snowfall as early as September.
