The Show regularly checks in with Editorial Board of the Arizona Republic to talk about the big issues facing the state and the region — featured in the newspaper’s Viewpoints section.

Maricopa County prosecutor Rachel Mitchell was front and center for Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee when Christine Blasey Ford was questioned on her allegations about now Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Some argued Mitchell shouldn’t have taken the assignment — both because of its partisan nature and because she wouldn’t have the opportunity to approach the situation as a prosecutor typically would.

In the Sunday edition of The Arizona Republic, a number of former prosecutors — including the former U.S. attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke — criticized Mitchell’s involvement and a memo she issued after the hearing.

Arizona Republic editorial director Phil Boas joined The Show for his weekly appearance to talk about it.
