Thanksgiving Dinner Prices Down From Last Year

Arizonans will pay a little less this year for their Thanksgiving dinner.

The costs are down about 5 percent from last year. That’s based on the cost of a turkey dinner for a family of 10, according to the Arizona Farm Bureau.

Spokeswoman Julie Murphree says their shopping list includes turkey with all the trimmings, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream, along with coffee and milk.

Murphree credits the price declines to the intense retail competition for your grocery dollars.

“We’re talking about six different grocery stores that you and I have the option to go into," she said. "Sometimes you might live in a different region of the country where you only have the option of two different grocery stores, so, I think that’s really helping a lot of the Arizona families.”

Murphree said their dinner price of $46 dollars did not include use of store circulars or coupons, so you may very well be able to beat the Farm Bureau's prices.
