There’s been a fair amount of consternation recently about what some are referring to as a decline in democracy.

They cite political situations in places like Turkey, Poland and the United States as examples. But Daniel Treisman thinks those concerns are overblown.

Treisman did some research on this subject and wrote about his findings in the Washington Post. Treisman is a political science professor at UCLA.

He wrote that, while the situation for democracy maybe isn’t ideal, it also isn’t quite as bad as some would argue.
